Our Activities
Activities of the Mission elevate the heads of the participants, transporting them to new realms of understanding.
Chinmaya Mission has evolved activities, events, and programmes to cater to people of all age groups from all walks of life. While weekly classes strengthen the knowledge of the members, Jnana Yajnas and camps reach out to a larger audience and act as eye openers.
At Chinmaya Upasana, we believe in offering a holistic approach to spiritual growth, combining ancient wisdom with modern living. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a newcomer to the world of spirituality, our diverse range of offerings ensures there is something for everyone.
Step into the tranquility of our ashram, and you will find a space where contemplation, self-discovery, and community intertwine. Through our activities, we strive to create an atmosphere that not only nurtures the intellect but also fosters a sense of unity, compassion, and inner peace. Join us in exploring the profound teachings of the ancient scriptures, forging meaningful connections with fellow seekers, and embracing a journey of personal transformation at Chinmaya Upasana.
The on-going activities of Chinmaya Upasana are:
JNANA YAJNAS
- Scriptural study, and regular contemplation on the deeper import of the teachings heard, kindles the fire of knowledge in an intelligent spiritual seeker, who thereafter offers his false values and negative tendencies as his oblations into this fire of knowledge.
- To invigourate and inspire the masses for Vedantic Scriptural studies and consequent contemplation on them, trained teachers (initiated acharyas), Swamis/swaminis and brahmacharis/brahmacharinis conduct periodic Jnana Yajnas (series of talks) on various spiritual texts and subjects.
- For the organizing hosts, these Jnana Yajnas are cooperative endeavours that unite bands of like-minded people who together organize a field for their own character development and spiritual growth.
- For the attending community members, the event has manifold benefits on their personal, familial and societal levels.
- This lecture series typically lasts for 5 – 7 days , consisting of 60 or 90 minute evening or early morning talks daily
- Jnana Yajnas are free of charge and open to the public.
